While video games have long been seen through the lens of entertainment only, they are now being used more for research in academic roles. The format of video games has also changed from a physical medium to digital cloud-based services. With this technology change, what are the best ways for academic librarians using MARC to catalog video games to add them to their collections? This chapter explores the use of MARC in game cataloging as well as the use of OLAC subject fields for video game description.
