Nach einer pragmatischen Definition von Auftragsliteratur und einer Abgrenzung von Literaturförderung durch Literaturpreise und -stipendien stellt dieser Beitrag anhand zweier Beispiele Auftragsliteratur von privater unternehmerischer Seite vor, deren Begleitphänomene im Kontext einer »Gesellschaft der Singularitäten« (Reckwitz) verortet werden können. Nach einer Analyse der produktions-, rezeptions- und werkästhetischen Implikationen von Auftragstexten in der Gegenwart werden Perspektiven auf die daraus resultierenden Herausforderungen an die literaturwissenschaftliche Praxis aufgezeigt. Nicht zuletzt zeigen sich Rückkopplungseffekte, wenn die Literaturwissenschaft durch Poetikdozenturen die Genese von Texten beeinflusst, die wiederum zum Gegenstand literaturwissenschaftlicher Forschung werden.
Contexts of commissioning continue to shape the production of diverse literary forms today, ranging from poetry to poetics lectures. Following a pragmatic definition of commissioned literature and a distinction from the funding of literature through prizes and fellowships, this article, through two case studies, examines commissioned works originating from private entrepreneurial initiatives, whose epiphenomena can be situated within the framework of a »society of singularities« (Reckwitz). An analysis of the aesthetics of production, reception, and the literary work itself highlights the implications of commissioned texts in the contemporary literary landscape and serves as the basis for outlining the challenges these texts pose to literary scholarship. Feedback effects become particularly evident when literary studies themselves, through the institution of poetics lectures, influence the genesis of texts that subsequently become objects of their own critical inquiry.
