Vera Piontkowitz

Vera Piontkowitz (born 1998) is a research assistant and PhD candidate at the Computational Humanities Group, Institute of Computer Science, Leipzig University, where she also completed her studies in Digital Humanities and Cultural Studies. She began her doctoral research in 2025, supported by a scholarship from the European Social Fund. Her research interests include the safeguarding of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage, exploring how digital tools and interactive media such as video games can serve as preservation technologies. Her PhD centers on the development and application of computational methods to support cultural heritage institutions, with particular focus on enhancing archival workflows.
